The MIDI Synth Project

I've been wanting to put together something to play around with some of the ideas I have with MIDI manipulation for a while. I started tinkering last summer and put everything on hold as this felt much more like a winter project as we had such a wonderful summer last year. So, turn of the new year I re-started with some of the ideas.

I decided to take the work that Gordon Good did a while back on the Marmonizer as a base and work this through with my own approach. Get this going and then step onwards with some of the other ideas I have. So, here's the progress and lead-through of the project. As I'll be blogging other ideas as they come I'll use this page to collect together the thread of the project into a cohesive picture.

Investigation #1
Getting the basic Midi reading working and passing on to a VS1053 Musical Instrument Shield

Investigation #2
Switching the Midi reading to the fortyseveneffects library to use callbacks. This also uses the Marmonizer v2 code to read a pot and transpose the notes.

Investigation #3
Using the Marmoniser v3 code to harmonise chords.
